The keto diet is focused on eating lower amounts of carbs and it changes the way your body produces energy. This will cause your body to use stored fat instead of carbs as it’s main source of energy. There are lots of benefits of following the keto diet including losing weight, controls your blood sugar level, increases your energy, reduces your risk of various diseases and it can improve your cholesterol. The author provides tips about the keto diet and a healthy lifestyle; for example in addition to carbs being lowered, you want to increase your healthy fat intake, get regular exercise, be sure to stay hydrated and get enough sleep! There are tips on what foods to eat and which ones to stay away from. The variety of recipes in this book are designed for you to make in a slow cooker. Using a slow cooker can save you time and help reduce your consumption of processed foods. It’s also great because when you make a batch in the slow cooker it can be enough food for 4-5 days. I love that there is a pretty large section of vegan and vegetarian recipes in this book. I often find that it can be difficult to find things to eat on keto that don’t contain meat. Our nutritionist recommended trying this Keto diet and I began to look for ways to make dinner and i stumbled upon this cookbook. Our favorite breakfast dish is the salmon with scrambled eggs. Such a flavorful and new breakfast dish that we all loved. Another favorite dish is the Lime Chicken with Cabbage. I would never imagine such simple recipes could have so much flavor.
